WristRoute is a dedicated GPS application designed for Apple Watch, tailored for outdoor activities like hiking, biking, and various offline pursuits. It operates independently without the need for an iPhone or an Internet connection.

Within WristRoute, users can work with GPX files which include waypoints, routes, and tracks. By downloading a GPX file before a hike, you can easily load it onto your watch, enabling you to navigate along the predefined route on a map or monitor your elevation progress using the elevation profile.

The application utilizes cutting-edge topographic maps sourced from USGS: US Topo within the continental United States while outside this region, an OpenStreetMap-based map is used. Additionally, maps are conveniently stored locally for offline access.

WristRoute is crafted to provide seamless operation throughout the day with features aimed at conserving battery life. The GPS Battery Saver optimally activates GPS functions as required. Furthermore, users can opt to disable the map display, presenting solely the GPX route lines and waypoints for better power efficiency.
